How does a door stopper work?

A door can be stopped using a door stopper that is simply a heavy solid object that includes rubber and is then placed in the path of the door to obstruct the same from opening any further or closing down. Once the wedge is kicked into position, the downward force jams down the door and provides static friction and this keeps the same motionless.
This door wedge can be used for holding the door from opening too widely. The wedge may be identified using thin slat built inside the door frame to prevent a door from swinging through when you forget to close the same down completely.
